Today in human geo class we talked about why do people migrate and total fertility rate.
Most of people migrate because the country that they live did't give them what they want.

4. unemployment or underemployment
5.religious or ethnic persecution
  Pull forces

2. better health services
3. religious freedom
4. political freedom
Total fertility Rate (TFR); average number of children born per woman.
for a population to remain the same, the TFR must be 2.1.
The TFR high than 2.1 means  the population rises like Nigeria is 5.38. Less than 2.1 is population fails like Japan is only 1.39.

ARETE
Arete , in its basic sense, means "excellence of any kind".The term may also mean "moral virtue".In its earliest appearance in Greek, this notion of excellence was ultimately bound up with the notion of the fulfillment of purpose or function: the act of living up to one's full potential.

SEPT 3rd,2014 Message to Garcia

Today's Human Geography we talked about a story " Message to Garcia" written in 1899 by Elbert Hubbard . The story was happened in the Spanish America War, the president Mckinley  wanted to give a message to Garcia from Rowan, even though Rowan didn't known the location about  him, but he still did it. I think Rowan is great, he didn't have any complain with this difficult work. But for me, i always complain about many some things, like my homework or my lunch... It can't be compared with Rowan's work, Rowan was the hero in this War.It was a really a good story.
