DEC 4 ,2014 Examples of cultural characteristics #Religion

On today's human geo class, we had a fire drill during the class time, and when we got back, Mr. Schick show us a song that his daughter sang with the rewrote lyrics. I like the song so much and I'd never heard it before. And then we continued talked about the Examples of cultural characteristics, and here is my note.
  • Religion can be unifying.
  • There are five major religions in the   world: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judais, Christianity and Islam
  • The millions of followers all believe the same thing
  • Religion can also be dividing around the world
  • Hindus and Muslims fight in India (Hindu) and Pakistan (muslim)
  • There are conflicts between Catholics and Prodestants (two forms of Christianity) in Northern Islands

  • Canada is a bilingual nation. French and English are their official. Canada has provinces instead of states.

  • Switzerland has multiple languages but very little conflict between groups
  • English is now considered the world language and used for must business.

  • In Yugoslavia, many ethnic groups were made into one country (Serbs, Croats, Bosnians, Albanians)
  • When strong leadership died out, the different groups fought a very bloody civil war and now they all have separate countries
  • In the countries of Rwanda and Burundi in Africa, two ethnic groups dominate, the Tutsis and Hutus
  • The Hutus are dominant in one and they persecute the Tutsis, and the Tutsis are dominant in the other
  • And they persecute the Hutus. It has led to almost constant war between the groups

DEC 1, 2014 The end of the Slumdog Millionaire.

Today we finished reading the movie "Slumdog Millionaire", although I have saw it movie before, but I still moved in my second time.
The main character's brother in the movie, when he give the car keys to Latika, and let her go, lay in the bathtub that full of money and died. That was a really cool movie.
